Manchester City rampaged through their rivals Manchester United with a match that could potentially decide which club is going to be crowned champions of the Premier League of the current season.
Manchester United lost the chance of grabbing hold the Premier League title a few months ago but Manuel Pellegrini and his squad are in the battle for it along with Liverpool and Chelsea as those are the true contenders for the silverware this time around.
The match was won rather comfortably by Manchester City with the Bosnian forward Edin Dzeko scoring twice and Yaya Toure also managing to score which is a huge boost for the entire club as they continue adding points and making their stake for the trophy.
Kompany is well aware of what the victory represents for the club and his teammates but he has warned them that there still is work left to do.
“It’s just one little step beating United. The other teams are still very good.
“I mean, games have to be played. As long as we don’t have the points, I don’t consider ourselves there yet. With the game against Arsenal; obviously it’s good in a way because you don’t have to make a big effort to get the lads focused again.” Kompany revealed.
Manuel Pellegrini expressed his delight after the match was over as he said that he is satisfied with the performances displayed by the players of his club.
“I think that we did a really good performance. We scored three goals; we had three or four more clear chances to score. I don’t remember a clear chance United had. We were a compact team, an aggressive team from the beginning.
“For me, it’s very important to keep our clean sheet. We know we can score a lot of goals but today we were very compact as a team. Pellegrini stated.
